Samsung Electronics Co. said on Thursday that its cumulative sales of AI-integrated home appliances have surpassed 1.5 million units as of July this year.
The sales include 15 product categories, including TVs, monitors, refrigerators, dishwashers, washing machines, induction cooktops, dryers, air conditioners, and robot vacuum cleaners.
Over the past three months, two out of every three home appliances sold at Samsung Electronics' offline stores were AI-enabled.
More than 90% of drum washing machines and robot vacuum cleaners sold featured AI capabilities.
This success is attributed to the strong sales of the all-in-one washer-dryer Bespoke AI Combo and the all-in-one robot vacuum cleaner with a built-in mop function, Bespoke AI Steam, launched earlier this year.
The Bespoke AI Combo reached 10,000 units in sales within just two months of its release, while the Bespoke AI Steam achieved the same milestone in 25 days.
AI-powered TVs, including the Neo QLED 8K, have gained significant traction among consumers, its position as a leader in the AI TV market by offering enhanced viewing experiences through powerful AI features like image upscaling and sound optimization.
Samsung Electronics AI appliances connect and control devices via the SmartThings app to assist in efficient energy management.
Samsung Electronics plans to showcase AI appliances, including the Bespoke AI Family Hub, Bespoke AI Combo, and Bespoke AI Steam at the IFA 2024.
IFA 2024 is Europe's largest electronics trade show and will be held from September 6 to 10 in Berlin, Germany.
