LG Electronics Inc. said on Friday it will unveil a cloud platform for business-to-business (B2B) customers of commercial displays at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2024, a global trade show for the audiovisual industry to be held in Barcelona from Jan. 30 to Feb. 3.
The platform, dubbed LG Business Cloud, provides content management solutions for electronic products such as commercial display panels, the South Korean home appliance giant said.
It is important to integrate hardware technology like image quality with commercial display and content management as the devices need to change content frequently and provide customized content for installation purposes, LG added.
The platform will be released in March, with various types of software for LG’s commercial displays.
It helps clients easily create content for hospitality TVs and digital signage with a user-friendly interface. The platform can also monitor and remotely control signage and energy use in real time.
For clients of hospitality TVs and signage run on LG’s webOS 6.0, the platform offers a power switch controllable online, a digital dashboard to check the device's operation, videos for software instruction and online consulting services.
LG will launch the solutions in North America first and then diversify the market to Korea and Europe. The company aims to strengthen the B2B cloud platform by embedding electric vehicle charging and robotics solutions.
With the B2B business as a new growth engine, LG will not only supply products but will expand the solutions to clients’ needs, said Chief Executive Cho Joo-wan at CES 2023 earlier this month.
The company will provide B2B clients with differentiated solutions through the platform, which integrates trials, subscriptions, installation and management, said LG’s information display head Paik Ki-mun.
