Samsung Electronics Co., the world’s top TV maker by sales, on Monday launched a next-generation signage operations platform to boost its presence in the global business-to-business (B2B) sector.

Samsung introduced the Visual eXperience Transformation (VXT), a cloud-based content management solution (CMS) that combines content and remote signage management in one secure platform. The all-in-one solution allows businesses to easily create and manage their digital displays, according to the Korean tech giant.

“Cloud migration is an unstoppable trend,” said Alex Lee, executive vice president of Samsung’s visual display business, in a statement. “VXT is an innovative step toward this migration in that it makes high-tech signage more readily accessible, no matter where our customers are. Not only is high-tech signage accessible, but the content and remote management solutions VXT provides are user-friendly.”

Designed as an omni-channel service, VXT will be accessible through various subscription plans, including monthly and annual options, Samsung said. The company will also sell the platform offline through its existing global B2B sales network, with a plan for online sales starting in the US ahead of a subsequent global rollout this year.

The global digital signage market is forecast to grow to $26.1 billion by 2028 from an expected $18.7 billion this year at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.9% during the period, according to India-based management consulting firm MarketsandMarkets.

Samsung’s domestic rival LG Electronics Inc. has bet big on digital signage displays as part of its global B2B push to offset weakening home appliance demand.

CLOUD-BASED

VXT advances MagicINFO, Samsung's server-based digital signage operation and management software, to a cloud-based one. The platform streamlines the deployment and updating of software directly through a cloud portal, eliminating the cumbersome process of manual updates, Samsung said.

Unlike other CMS solutions, VXT is a turnkey solution developed by Samsung that allows users to create content and manage screens from one application.

The platform also combines the content, solutions and expertise of third-party system integrators, software developers and content partners to provide users with access to an even broader range of content, specific to vertical use cases, without the need for further customization or development.

Its remote management feature allows users to manage multiple devices in real time, while the platform is equipped with highly customizable security functions.

VXT also provides users with access to a trove of libraries of artwork and photos held at art museums and galleries, for businesses ranging from offices to restaurants and beyond. The platform also features point of sale systems, which can be linked to real-time transactions and payments, as well as special solutions for real estate agents and car dealers.

Samsung is scheduled to hold a global launch event for VXT on Jan. 31 at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2024 in Barcelona.
