LG Electronics unveils 2024 QNED TV

LG Electronics Inc. announced on Thursday that it will unveil the 2024 QNED TV (Quantum nano-emitting diode) equipped with the artificial intelligence (AI) tech-based Alpha 8 Processor. A 98-inch TV has also been added to the lineup.

The newly applied Alpha 8 Processor delivers 1.3 times more powerful AI performance than the previous Alpha 7, ensuring high-quality visuals and sound suitable for large-sized TVs.

Graphic performance, representing text, faces, textures, and more has improved by 2.3 times, and processing speed, responsible for app loading, has been enhanced by 1.6 times.

The enhanced AI image quality technology distinguishes genres and screen backgrounds during viewing, presenting a clear image. The Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro finely adjusts HDR effects and brightness by segmenting each scene.

The AI sound technology converts two-channel audio sources into a virtual 9.1.2 channel for richer sound. Customers using an LG soundbar can enjoy three-dimensional spatial sound through the Wow Orchestra feature, where the TV speaker and soundbar operate as a single speaker system.

The LG QNED Evo, equipped with Mini LED, offers 64 times improved contrast expression based on 100 million levels of brightness. It achieves deep and realistic image quality through Precision Dimming technology, finely adjusting brightness in segmented areas. The thickness of the QNED85 and QNED80 models is 29 mm, featuring a slim design.

For customer convenience, LG operates the webOS Renewal Program. Customers who own the 2022 LG QNED Evo 8K series can enjoy a differentiated TV experience with webOS upgrades every year for the next five years. This marks the first time LG Electronics is upgrading the operating system of a smart TV.

The newly introduced 98-inch QNED TV reflects customer interest and demand for large-sized premium LCD TVs, with a diagonal length of 249 cm.

With this release, LG Electronics now has a full lineup of QNED TVs, ranging from small to large, covering sizes from 43 to 98 inches. This strategy aims to respond to customer demand and enhance competitiveness in the expanding premium LCD TV market.
