South Korea’s LG Electronics Inc. is highly recognized for its TV sound systems in the US, the world’s largest home appliance market.
Earlier this month LG’s SC9S ranked second on US nonprofit organization Consumer Reports' list of best premium soundbars of 2023. US audio product maker Sonos Inc.’s Arc topped the list, and Samsung Electronics Co.’s HW-S801B followed in third place.
The LG product is one of the best soundbars that Consumer Reports tested this year, the US organization said. It noted that the device, with three upfiring speakers, provides great sound across various genres.
LG’s SC9S and Sono’s Arc topped in sound quality, each scoring 74. Samsung’s HW-S801B followed with 73.
Consumer Reports rated the top-listed products based on 14 factors, including sound quality, ease of use, type of device, versatility, surround sound system, Wi-Fi audio streaming content, built-in digital assistant and number of channels.
LG will unveil its 2024 soundbar lineup, designed to enhance the home cinema experience, at global tech show CES 2024 to be held next month in Las Vegas.
The new lineup’s premium models, S95TR and SG10TY, are available for wireless connection to LG TVs and provide high-quality sound. The products offer a three-dimensional quality with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, the company said.
The devices optimize the sound based on content and radiate sound in all the directions of the listening space based on artificial intelligence-powered space analysis, LG said.
