Samsung Electronics Co. announced that one out of every three of its Neo QLED and QLED TVs sold in South Korea between January and July this year featured screen sizes of 85 inches (214cm) or larger.
Data from the South Korean electronics giant, released on Tuesday, showed sales of 85-inch models rose by 1.8 times year-on-year, constituting 30% of total sales by size. In contrast, last year saw 75-inch (189cm) models taking a larger share at 32%.
Notably, the launch of Samsung's 98-inch Neo QLED 8K last month saw sales of this model skyrocket to seven times the amount sold during the same period last year, demonstrating a significant uptick in the demand for larger screens.
Samsung Electronics continues to lead in the global market for large-sized TVs, claiming a market share of 43.9% for models 80 inches (203cm) or larger, and 38.8% for those 75 inches or larger.
