Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5: Don’t bother to open it!

The Galaxy Z Flip 5, the fifth generation of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip smartphones, makes a clear distinction from its predecessors: enabling users to take pictures and multitask without opening it.  

The new edition to the vertically foldable phone series, released on Wednesday, features a bigger cover screen, occupying the entire half of the phone when folded.

The main screen is 8.61 centimeters, measured diagonally when closed, compared with the 4.8 cm of the fourth generation. That compares with the 8.89 cm of the first iPhone model display.

Thanks to the big screen, users can take selfies, read and write messages and watch livestreams without bothering to open the phone.

Folded, they can also open the on-screen keyboard on the main screen, which offers enough space to type.

The Flip 5 is optimized for taking selfies with the rear camera thanks to the larger outside display, allowing users to stretch their arms as far as possible.

Users can take hands-free photos from creative angles even with the phone half-unfolded at 90 degrees or in the L shape. It’s quick and simple to view and edit shots, while reviewing, adjusting the color tone, or deleting images easily with the quick view on the main screen.

MULTITASKING

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 comes with an improved taskbar for its users to quickly switch between frequently used apps.

Up to four apps can continue running in the background, allowing users to watch video content in the full screen and chat with friends in a floating pop-up on the side of the screen. Its previous models can only run up to two apps simultaneously.

South Korea’s three mobile carriers will take pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5 from August 1.
