Samsung, LG rank top in J.D. Power’s appliance satisfaction study

Samsung Electronics Co. and LG Electronics Inc. top ranked in J.D. Power's 2023 US Appliance Satisfaction Study of nine major categories. 

J.D. Power study is a highly respected survey that is used by consumers and industry leaders to gauge customer satisfaction with a variety of products and services. The study's results provide valuable insights into the latest trends in consumer preferences and experiences.

According to the consumer reliability study released on Friday, Samsung ranked first in eight categories, including cooktop, over-the-range microwave, freestanding range, French door refrigerator, regular refrigerator, front-load clothes washer, top-load clothes washer, and clothes dryer. It also ranked second in dishwashers and two-door refrigerators.

LG ranked highest in the two-door refrigerator and over-the-range microwave categories. It also ranked second in freestanding range, French door refrigerator, and regular refrigerator. 

The study, which was based on feedback from 21,062 customers who purchased home appliances within the past year, found that Samsung and LG products were highly rated for their innovative features, stylish design, and reliable performance.

"Korean home appliances have once again proven their status as global leaders by being recognized as the best products in competition with global leading companies such as Whirlpool and General Electric (GE)," said a home appliance industry source.
