LG Electronics Inc. on Friday launched a sleep management solution called "brid.zzz" aimed at individuals grappling with stress and insomnia.
The name "brid.zzz" conveys the refreshing sensation of a cool breeze it provides to customers.
The brid.zzz utilizes real-time brainwave measurement and induction to create a stable sleep environment. It comprises ergonomically designed wireless earbuds and a companion app that offers brainwave-inducing content.
The core principle behind brid.zzz is brainwave entrainment, which leverages the frequency difference between the left and right brain, corresponding to the varying frequencies heard by each ear.
By delivering sounds with a 2Hz frequency difference to the ears, brid.zzz induces brainwaves associated with deep sleep in the 2Hz range.
What sets brid.zzz apart is its provision of both static binaural beats and dynamic binaural beats, developed by LG Electronics. These beats dynamically adjust in real-time to the user's state, stabilizing brainwaves and facilitating deep sleep.
The companion app features two modes: Mind Care and Sleep Care. It offers a diverse range of content, including ASMR sounds and lullabies composed by renowned artists like Lucid Fall.
The Mind Care mode provides sounds that induce alpha waves for psychological stability and incorporates breathing guides to alleviate tension and anxiety.
The Sleep Care mode aids in the induction of theta and delta waves, promoting deep sleep. Users can personalize their sleep environment by selecting atmospheric sounds such as rain in a forest, a gentle stream in the woods, or the ambiance of a rainy late-night alley. The app also provides graphical representations of sleep patterns.
Clinical trials conducted in collaboration with Korea University and Bundang Seoul National University Hospital have confirmed brid.zzz's effectiveness. Users experienced a significant reduction in cortisol levels, a stress hormone, as well as decreased sleep onset time and wakefulness during sleep.
