LS Electric Co., South Korean manufacturer of power and industrial automation equipment, announced on Monday that it will participate in the Hannover Messe 2023, unveil a range of smart energy solutions. Hannover Messe 2023 is the world's largest industrial technology trade show, which will be held in Hannover, Germany, from April 17 to 21.
LS Electric has set up an exhibition hall with a focus on two themes, smart energy management and digital manufacturing innovation, in a 189-square-meter space.
In particular, the company has fully deployed direct current (DC)-based distribution solutions such as solid-state transformers (SSTs) and solid-state circuit breakers (SSCBs).
Unlike conventional power systems that use alternating current (AC), electric vehicle chargers and batteries use direct current, requiring power conversion devices to convert DC to AC in charging stations.
LS Electric's SSTs can convert DC and AC at the same time through power semiconductors, eliminating the need for a separate power conversion device and reducing charging station space by up to 40% and power equipment weight by more than half.
LS Electric will also showcase its next-generation energy storage system (ESS) platform MSSP to target the industrial ESS market.
"At this exhibition, we will unveil digital-based environmentally friendly strategic products and seize the global market based on our overwhelming competitiveness," said an LS Electric official.
