Koh Young Technology Inc., a leading 3D optical inspection devices maker in South Korea, is set to participate in IPC APEX EXPO 2023 in San Diego to strengthen its foothold in the US market.

The tech firm will introduce its 3D inspection solutions including solder paste inspection system (SPI), automated optical inspection system (AOI) and 3D automated pin inspection solution (API) during the show, one of the largest electronics manufacturing industry events in North America to be held between Jan. 24 and 26.

Koh Young will also showcase equipment for dispensing process inspection (DPI) and semiconductor inspection, which are in rising demand in the auto and chipmaking industries.

The firm's 3D optical DPI equipment, Neptune T and Neptune C+, uses artificial intelligence algorithms to accurately measure the thickness of transparent and translucent materials, such as epoxy and bonding glues.

Koh Young's Meister D+, a 3D solution that can simultaneously inspect the exterior and surface of semiconductors, is increasingly used in the advanced packaging of semiconductors.

It will also introduce its AI-based smart factory solution Ksmart, which automatically collects data from inspection equipment, store and analyze results and conducts real-time optimization for efficient operation of manufacturing facilities.

The company is ready to demonstrate the world's leading surface mount technology (SMT) during the show, solidifying the top position in the global market, said Joel Scutchfield, the general manager of SMT business operations and director of sales at Koh Young America.
