South Korean electronic parts maker LG Innotek has received global recognition for its international standard patents for electric vehicle (EV) charging components.
The company on Sunday said it secured three global patents for EV charging standards -- two for charging control technologies based on battery status information and another for programming charging time.
LG Innotek was also recognized as a licensor of patented technology by Via Licensing Alliance (LA), a San Francisco-based specialist in licensing of standard patents for EV charging. The South Korean company is one of just eight worldwide recognized by Via LA as licensors including GE, Bosch and Siemens.
LG Innotek is also pursuing more patents for self-driving as well as for EVs.
