BTS' first official book "Beyond the Story: 10-Year Record of BTS", published in celebration of 10th Anniversary, topped the New York Times bestseller.
According to the rankings released on Wednesday, the book claimed the top spot in the nonfiction hardcover category.
BTS’ agency Big Hit Music explained that the rankings announced on that day were based on the weekly sales and pre-orders of books published after July 9. "This is the first one written by a Korean to reach number one on New York Times bestseller," a Big Hit Music source said.
"Beyond the Story" also topped the Amazon bestseller list in the US, UK, Brazil, Australia, and Japan. Especially in Brazil's Amazon, it set a new record for the highest number of pre-orders ever. It has been published in 23 languages.
BTS shares personal, behind-the-scenes stories of their journey so far through interviews and more than three years of in-depth coverage by Myeongseok Kang, who has written about K-pop and other Korean pop culture in various media.
Presented chronologically in seven chapters from before the debut of BTS to the present, their vivid voices and opinions harmonize to tell a sincere, lively, and deep story.
In individual interviews that have been conducted without a camera or makeup, they illuminate their musical journey from multiple angles and discuss its significance.
The domestic release date July 9, is also known as ARMY Day, which is the day the fandom ARMY was born.
