South Korea's Samsung SDS Co. said on Tuesday it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Ansys Korea to strengthen its cloud business.
Ansys Korea is the local unit of US-based Ansys, which develops computer-aided engineering (CAE) simulation software in industries such as automotive, energy, defense, and semiconductors.
Under the MOU, Samsung SDS will offer its graphics processing unit (GPU)-based artificial intelligence (AI) cloud infrastructure via the Samsung Cloud Platform (SCP), while Ansys Korea will provide CAE solutions along with technical support and training.
Both companies said they plan to collaborate to allow users to easily access Ansys solutions via the SCP marketplace.
Ansys Korea expects SCP’s subscription-based GPU services to improve simulation speeds and shorten product development cycles.
Both parties will also conduct a proof of concept (PoC) to assess the technical compatibility of their cloud-based services.
