Innogrid Co., a South Korean company specializing in cloud computing and digital transformation, said on Thursday that it secured a three-year deal worth about 10 billion won ($7.6 million) from the National Information Society Agency (NIA).
The contract involves providing technical support and maintenance management for an open cloud platform project, which aims to develop a domestic cloud platform that is not dependent on any specific company and can be freely used by anyone because its source code is open.
Innogrid teamed up with three other service-type platform (PaaS) companies— Namu Tech Co., Megazone Cloud, and Revit Co.—to bid for the contract as the principal contractor.
“The contract is an opportunity for us to grow into a leading company in PaaS technology and to contribute to the growth of the domestic PaaS ecosystem,” said Kim Myung-jin, chief executive of Innogrid.
