NHN Cloud joins Cloud Native Computing Foundation's KCSP program

South Korea's NHN Cloud announced on Wednesday that it had become a Kubernetes Certified Service Provider (KCSP), which is a partner program created by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) to help organizations find partners with deep expertise and experience in Kubernetes.

The CNCF is a non-profit technology foundation that manages and promotes various open-source technology projects used in cloud-native environments.

Kubernetes is one of the foundation's essential technology projects that exemplifies cloud-native technology. At its core, Kubernetes automates containers, which are self-contained software packages that include all the necessary components to run an application.

Kubernetes is widely recognized as a standard technology for container orchestration, which involves scaling, distributing and managing applications in large-scale environments.

The CNCF acknowledges companies as KCSPs if they have a Kubernetes business model and provide stable services. Companies that want to become a KCSP must meet specific requirements, such as having professional personnel with Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification, providing Kubernetes technology, support and consulting capabilities, and demonstrating multiple customer experiences.

NHN Cloud was recognized by CNCF for its comprehensive capabilities as a partner that supports flexible cloud operations and provides high-satisfaction cloud-native services to customers in various industries based on NHN Kubernetes Service. This achievement came after becoming a CKA from CNCF in Feb. 2022.

As a KCSP, NHN Cloud plans to provide more optimized Kubernetes services to customers. It also plans to actively participate in the global cloud open-source ecosystem to expand its technological influence as an integrated cloud service based on South Korea's representative open stack.

"Joining the KCSP membership is the result of proving NHN Cloud's Kubernetes service expertise and experience. Through this, we will become a cloud company that shares the entire process of customers' cloud-native journey," said Kim Myung-shin, the chief technology officer of NHN Cloud.

NHN Kubernetes Service helps users easily utilize Kubernetes, providing essential elements for users who containerize service applications, such as NHN cloud optimization Kubernetes cluster creation management, Kubernetes cluster console control, Kubernetes update support and availability management support.
