South Korea's Lotte Chemical Corp. has launched its eco-friendly material brand, "Ecoseed."

The company announced on Tuesday that it unveiled the Ecoseed brand during the "Green Recycle Day" event held the previous day at Lotte World Tower in Seoul, as part of its efforts to achieve the recycling business 2030 vision.

Ecoseed is a brand that integrates physico-chemical recycling (PCR) materials and bio-plastic materials (Bio-PET). Lotte Chemical plans to expand its green business with this brand launch and aims to supply 1 million tons of Ecoseed products by 2030.

The initial "e" of Ecoseed is designed in a way that symbolizes the growth of leaves from seed, also representing the infinity symbol that signifies a virtuous circle. The company explained that it signifies thinking about the environment from the smallest unit for the sake of a greener future.

The Ecoseed material brand offers a high-quality product range capable of recycling most plastics used in everyday life. Lotte Chemical has also secured eco-friendly recycling technology, such as being the first in Korea to produce pyrolysis naphtha products.

"Resource circulation is becoming an essential condition for companies and countries to sustain themselves and is having a significant impact on our lives," Vice Chairman of Lotte Chemical Kim Gyo-hyun said, during the commemorative event. "We will make every effort to ensure that Ecoseed becomes a 'sustainable seed' that practices a plastic circular economy."
