South Korea's SK Ecoplant Co. on Wednesday said that it has entered a business agreement with Aents Inc., a company specializing in carbon accounting solutions. The partnership aims to provide carbon emission diagnosis and reduction services to clients.
Carbon accounting involves recording all carbon emissions and reductions generated by business activities and converting them into data. Carbon accounting solutions automate the measurement and management of various environmental data that have been manually recorded in the past, including reporting and reduction plan development.
The partnership intends to enhance Aents' carbon emission management solution, based on its carbon accounting foundation, by adding new features such as RE100 roadmap setting, cost analysis by an implementation plan and performance management.
SK Ecoplant will provide pilot target data to assist in the joint planning and testing of new features. Aents will be responsible for planning, software design and implementation and operation and maintenance of the service.
Additionally, the two companies plan to provide a service that discovers and registers excellent carbon reduction solutions from external sources and intermediates them on an open platform. They will also develop a comprehensive solution function that enables customers to confirm expected carbon reduction scenarios in advance and select and manage their own solutions.
The solution will be developed as a cloud-based standard application for each industry, supplied as service-type software on an open platform that anyone can use.
