Lotte's chemical units look for talent from US universities

Lotte Group's two chemical units in South Korea searched for talent in US universities.

Lotte Chemical Corp. and Lotte Fine Chemical Co. organized a series of recruitment and networking events at premier US universities including Stanford and UC Berkeley from Sept. 3 to 8.

High-ranking representatives and R&D officials from Lotte Chemical and Lotte Fine Chemical, including Hwang Yong-seok, the chief human resources officer (CHO) at Lotte Group's Chemical Business Unit, embarked on a visit to 14 US universities.

They engaged directly with R&D staff and potential candidates, imparting insights into the companies' R&D objectives and unveiling diverse job opportunities.

"Consistent with our 2030 vision, our chemical subsidiaries are delineating strategies for prospective and existing business ventures, defining R&D trajectories, and broadening into new business domains," said Kim Gyo-hyun, Representative Vice President of Lotte Group's Chemical Business Unit.

He further elucidated the group’s initiative to bolster core research staff by 2030 as a pivotal move in technology acquisition.

The recruiting endeavors, designed to enlist eminent talent internationally and domestically, saw active participation from numerous students at each university, expressing keen interest in understanding and aligning with the visions and prospects of the participating companies.

Lotte Group's Chemical Business Unit persistently advances its technological developments for futuristic business models. It concentrates on innovations in battery materials, hydrogen energy, and recycling at pivotal research hubs such as the Daejeon Research Institute, Uiwang Advanced Materials R&D Center, and Magok R&D Center in Seoul.

To secure exceptional talents, the group orchestrates global recruitment drives annually and hosts R&D symposiums domestically, with plans to augment collaborations between industry and academia through varied initiatives and engagements with leading research institutions.
