South Korea's biotech company Macrogen, Inc. signed a supply agreement to integrate its genome analysis platform, GenTok, into the Samsung Health app.
This initiative aims to popularize genome analysis, only available at specific facilities or health checkup centers.
Samsung Health users can access personalized health management services conveniently through their smartphones.
The GenTok program, exclusively designed for the Samsung Health app, is scheduled for release in the first half of next year.
Genome analysis involves examining the body’s genes from head to toe to assess individual genetic risks for certain diseases.
For example, it can provide insights into genetic predispositions for obesity and muscle development capacity.
Features such as hair loss, sleep, obesity, nutrition, and microbiome analysis are also expected to be integrated with the Samsung Health app.
