Korea's loan and financing company BNK Capital on Thursday said its subsidiary in Kyrgyzstan, MCC BNK Finance LLC, has launched operations as its sixth affiliate abroad.

Starting with Kazakhstan in 2018, BNK Capital is pursuing business opportunities in Central Asia. For example, it concluded in September this year the setup of its subsidiary in Kyrgyzstan, the region's second microfinance institution.

The Kyrgyz subsidiary has benchmarked the case of BNK Capital's Kazak affiliate given the two countries' similarities in culture and language, and will target the Kyrgyz market by forming a system and operations process and developing products tailored for the region.

BNK Capital CEO Lee Doo-ho said "Our plans are to form an Asian financial belt connecting Southeast and Central Asia to emerge as a global business leader."

BNK Capital conducts microlending and installment financing at six subsidiaries in five countries in Southeast and Central Asia that employ an estimated 1,200 staff.
