South Korean personal mobility (PM) company Gbike, the operator of PM sharing service platform Gcoo, said on Wednesday it started the electric kick scooters service in Ghana's capital Accra.
This is the first time a South Korean PM company has entered Africa.
According to the PM industry in South Korea, With a median age of 19.7, African countries have a large proportion of young people who will adapt to new modes of transportation, such as electric kick scooters.
Urban populations and average incomes are also growing, however, public transportation infrastructure is still lacking. Major cities in Africa are favorable to creating shared PM infrastructure.
