South Korea's Hyundai Mobis, the world’s fifth-largest auto parts supplier, said on Monday that it developed a leaf spring using lightweight polymer composite materials.
At a module technology-sharing event held at its R&D center in Uiwang, Gyeonggi Province, Hyundai Mobis unveiled 22 new modular technologies.
The company explained that the newly developed spring, designed for automotive suspension, reduces the weight of the chassis module while enhancing ride comfort.
Additionally, it revealed other innovations, including a chassis module that creates space for battery installation in electric vehicles and a cockpit module that automatically adjusts lighting based on passenger emotions.
