South Korea’s Hyundai Mobis, the world’s sixth-largest auto parts supplier, announced on Thursday that it released a thin car smart key designed like a credit card.
Similar to a conventional smart key, users can open and close car doors by pressing buttons on the card. It can also perform functions such as remote ignition, remote smart parking assist (RSPA), trunk opening, and remote alarm.
Hyundai Mobis has named this product the "Ultra-slim Button-type Smart Card Key."
"Recently, drivers carry more items such as smartphones, wireless earphones, and electronic cigarettes," a company source said. "The smart card key can be conveniently carried in a wallet."
Hyundai Mobis will first apply this card key to the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N. It will be sold through Hyundai Motor Co. 's online high-performance tuning platform, the N Performance Shop.
