Renault Korea Motors announced on Thursday that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for future infotainment collaboration to provide differentiated customer experience" with Tmap Mobility Co. at the Renault Korea Seoul office in Gangnam District, Seoul, the day before.
As part of the new car development project "Aurora Project," Renault Korea plans to equip the mid-size hybrid sports utility vehicle (SUV) scheduled for release next year with "Tmap Infotainment." They will actively cooperate in the development and application of third-party apps and new content.
Tmap Infotainment is Tmap Mobility's integrated in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) system, providing services such as in-car Tmap navigation, personalized recommendation services, traffic signal-linked services, in-car voice recognition "NUGU Auto," Tmap Store, in-car easy payment, and electric vehicle-specialized services.
Renault Korea has been continuously collaborating with Tmap Mobility since SK Telecom Co., to which Tmap Mobility belonged before its spin-off in Nov. 2020, and Renault Korea jointly developed the telematics system installed in the 2003 SM series.
"Through this MOU, the collaboration between Renault and Tmap Mobility for the future infotainment and connectivity roadmap will be strengthened," said Renault Korea CEO Stephane Deblaise.
"By combining the strengths of Renault vehicles and Tmap Mobility's infotainment expertise, we will create synergy and innovate the future mobility market," commented Tmap Mobility CEO Lee Jong-ho.
