The Electrified GV70, an electric SUV from Hyundai Motor Group's luxury brand Genesis, has won the top spot in a comparison test run by Germany's renowned automotive magazine, Auto Bild, according to the company announcement on Monday.

This South Korean electric SUV outperformed rivals Audi Q8 e-tron and Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV in an evaluation spanning seven categories.

Auto Bild, one of Germany's top three automotive publications, gave the GV70 electric vehicle (EV) high marks for its advanced electrification system and superior quality, pushing it into the leading position.

The comparison was grounded on seven key performance indicators: body, convenience, powertrain, driving performance, connectivity, environmental friendliness, and economy.

The GV70 EV came out on top in three of these categories - powertrain, environmental friendliness, and economy, scoring an overall 603 points. The Audi Q8 e-tron came in second with 574 points, and the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV trailed at third with 570 points.

GV70 EV notably scored full marks in the powertrain category, a pivotal competency for electric vehicles, thanks to its excellent driving performance, potent electric system, and speedy charging capabilities.

Moreover, GV70 EV earned the highest score of 80 points in environmental friendliness, a category assessing environmental technologies and noise pollution.

In the economy category, focused on maintenance and warranty aspects, it clinched a solid score of 79 points.

GV70 EV has a maximum output of 320 kW (360 kW in boost mode) and a maximum torque of 700 Nm. Fitted with a 77.4 kWh battery, it boasts a travel range of up to 400 km on a single charge.
