Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Corp. announced on Friday that they will support the official ceremonial vehicles for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Annual Meeting to be held on May 2-5 at Songdo Conventia in Incheon.
Hyundai and Kia signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Economy and Finance ADB Annual Meeting Preparation Planning Group for the 56th ADB Annual Meeting Vehicle Support at the Korea Federation of Banks in downtown Seoul.
Both companies plan to provide a total of 54 vehicles for use by major dignitaries from various countries, including 20 IONIQ 5s, two IONIQ 6s and 32 EV6s as official vehicles for the conference.
This year's ADB Annual Meeting consists of business sessions, Korean company presentations and cultural performances, with the theme "Rebounding Asia: Recover, Reconnect, and Reform."
About 5,000 people are expected to attend, including finance ministers and central bank governors from each member country, financial industry leaders from Korea and abroad, international and non-governmental organization (NGO) officials, and journalists.
"We are pleased to support environmentally friendly vehicles at this year's Annual Meeting, which will be conducted face-to-face for the first time in four years. We look forward to sharing Hyundai Group's commitment and vision for a sustainable future with the world," said a Hyundai Group official.
