Kia Corp., a South Korean carmaker, unveiled teaser images of its latest electric SUV, "The Kia EV9," on Thursday. This electric vehicle is built on a dedicated platform, known as E-GMP, making it the second model based on this platform after the EV6 was released in 2021.
The teaser images and videos released by Kia showcase the silhouette of the EV9, with special emphasis on the lighting applied to the front and rear of the vehicle.
The design of the EV9 boasts an authentic SUV shape with body proportions that create a wide interior space through a long wheelbase. The front seats feature several lights that add to their futuristic appeal, while the rear lamps located along the edge of the vehicle emphasize its width.
Kia first revealed the EV9 concept model at the LA Auto Show in Nov. 2021, and a driving test was conducted at the Hyundai Kia Motors Namyang R&D Center in Aug. last year, with the body wrapped in camouflage.
Kia plans to release detailed information on the interior and exterior design of the EV9 later this month, followed by an online event at the end of the month where they will share additional product information.
