Ssangyong Motor Co. said on Monday that it would participate in the 2023 European Motor Show Brussels and begin to move into the European market in earnest.

The Brussels Motor Show, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, was held at Brussels Expo in Belgium for a week from Jan. 14 to 22 after three years of hiatus since 2020.

At the motor show, Ssangyong Motor will showcase five models, including the Korando e-Motion, All-New Rexton, Korando, Tivoli, and Tivoli Air, in a 240-square-meter exhibition hall.

The company plans to enter the European market in earnest by introducing the Korando e-Motion, the brand's first electric vehicle, in the Belgian market.

The Korando e-Motion is equipped with a motor with a maximum output of 140 kW (190 horsepower) and a maximum torque of 360 Nm (36.7 kg-m).

The maximum driving distance on a single charge is 339 km based on the European WLTP (worldwide harmonized light vehicle test procedure). Ssangyong exported a total of 45,294 units to Europe last year, recording the highest figure in six years since 2016 (52,290 units).

"We will continue the sales growth last year by developing new markets and diversifying markets," said an official of Ssangyong Motor.
