LG CNS to develop AI platform of S.Korean government

South Korea’s LG CNS Co., a cloud computing services arm of LG Corp., announced on Sunday that it plans to develop a government-wide hyperscale artificial intelligence (AI) of the nation’s government.

The Public Procurement Service of South Korea announced through its G2B marketplace that the 2e Consulting consortium, which includes LG CNS, has been chosen as the leading candidate for a key project by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

The project aims to build a unified foundation for a hyperscale AI system across the government and to innovate administrative processes digitally through business process re-engineering (BPR) and information strategy planning (ISP).

As a key player in the 2e Consulting group, LG CNS will collaborate with partners such as the LG AI Research Institute, which developed the powerful Exaone AI model, to push the project forward.

2e Consulting, a firm with a strong DX focus, aims to craft strategic approaches for modernizing IT infrastructure and ensuring successful project delivery.

LG CNS has already contributed to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety by developing an AI service that aids in drafting speeches.

Allocated a budget of 1.08 billion won ($812,884), the project is slated to run until November this year, laying the groundwork for a more expansive effort next year.
