S.Korean startup DeepBrain AI unveils 3D virtual human B2B technology

South Korean AI startup DeepBrain AI has unveiled a 3D virtual human B2B technology that can engage in real-time conversations, display emotional expressions and make three-dimensional movements, the company said on Thursday.

Unlike existing AI humans optimized for frontal speech, the 3D virtual human is a virtual character based on 3D rendering that can be customized in terms of clothing, hair, language, tone and more, and viewed from various angles.

The character has adjustment points on the face and body, enabling the creation of three-dimensional characters and space production similar to actual reality, such as sitting in a chair.

According to the company, the 3D virtual human, based on the Unreal Engine, can perform real-time conversations without requiring a separate video synthesis process.

It has a real-time reaction function that expresses emotions and gestures that match the user's facial expressions and eliminates rendering time before speech output to maximize the naturalness of communication.

The 3D virtual human can prepare various speech shapes in advance and subdivide voice data to express natural mouth shapes, pronunciation, delicate emotional expressions and movements. It can be placed in various three-dimensional spaces such as VR and the metaverse and can be applied to various fields.

The 3D virtual human currently has four characters: Eastern male model Yuri; Western male model Peter; Western female model Sophia; and African female model Amber. DeepBrain AI plans to continuously update the characters and functions of the technology.

"In addition to the existing 2D realistic AI human, we have also implemented a high-quality 3D virtual human, which has expanded the range of options for customers to use in various fields," said Jang Se-young, the CEO of DeepBrain AI. "We will continue to lead the way in providing new business opportunities through innovative AI human services."

DeepBrain AI aims to provide easy-to-use and business-friendly conversational AI implementation services and various generative AI technologies and services. The company was recently selected as a promising enterprise AI avatar firm on the "Global 250 Generative AI Startups" list by CB Insight, a global market research firm.
