Hancom Frontis to develop AI digital human, 3D scanning project

Hancom Frontis, a Hancom Group company specializing in the metaverse, said on Tuesday that it has signed a three-way agreement with the Tech University of Korea and the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology to enhance the artificial intelligence (AI) functionality of its metaverse service "Arzmeta."
 
Through the latest deal, Hancom Frontis will jointly promote the "AI digital human development and AI 3D scanning project." As part of this, projects such as modeling, video, audio, language, and content creation for jointly developing the AI digital human will be carried out in stages.

The AI digital human to be developed subsequently will be used in various ways, such as a Korean language instructor within the Arzmeta Office Zone, a non-contact counselor in Healthcare Zone, and a fashion coordinator in Store Zone.

In addition, by jointly developing a 3D scanning engine using cameras, they plan to build a system that allows various products to be uploaded and sold on My Room or Store Zone in Arzmeta shortly.

Hancom Frontis is expanding partnerships for AI tech linkage, such as signing an agreement with Ploonet, an AI subsidiary of Saltlux, to apply AI virtual human video production technology to metaverse service in November last year.

"The metaverse is experimenting and challenging to provide popular services that users can access in a more familiar way. We plan to introduce the official service of Arzmeta in March this year," said Jeong Hyun-seok, CEO of Hancom Frontis.
