Air Premia, a South Korean hybrid service carrier, announced on Friday the launch of a new air route between Incheon and New York from May 22. This new route marks the carrier's second route to the Americas, following the Los Angeles route that opened in October last year.
The flights to New York will operate four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Unlike most Korean carriers, Air Premia will fly to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) rather than John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), as the former is located in northern New Jersey, where many Koreans reside.
To celebrate the opening of the New York flight, Air Premia is offering a ticket discount promotion until March 19.
"We received favorable reviews on the LA route at a reasonable price, and we hope that the same review will continue on the New York route," said Geum Chang-hyun, the head of Air Premia's passenger business division.
