Hanwha Aerospace to export more K9 howitzer to Poland

The company signed a $2.6 bn executive contract with the Polish State Armament Agency to deliver 152 units by 2027

Hanwha Aerospace Co. announced on Monday that it signed a $2.6 billion executive contract with the Polish State Armament Agency to export additional K9 self-propelled howitzers.

This contract includes the delivery of 152 units to Poland by 2027.  In July 2022, Hanwha Aerospace inked a framework agreement with the Polish government to export 672 K9 howitzers and 288 Chunmoo multiple launch rocket system In August last year, the company signed first executive contract to deliver 212 K9 and 218 Chunmoo.

Hanwha Aerospace will also supply 155mm ammunition for K9 and integrated logistics support (ILS) for maintenance. The company plans to work with the Polish government on local production of K9 parts.

“We will clear the orders on hand of K9 export contract with Poland,” a Hanwha Aerospace source said. “The military industry will be the new future growth engine of South Korea and our company will strive to center in this area.”
