South Korean leading defense company LIG Nex1 Co. took part in a drone-focused workshop "2023 Korea-Saudi Arabia Drone Road Show" in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from Aug. 28 to 30.
Hosted by the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS), the event delved into the "Uses of Drones in Security Fields, Opportunities, Challenges, and Policies."
Established in 1978 under the auspices of the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Interior, NAUSS aims to foster collaboration among Arab nations in crime prevention and the development of security expertise.
LIG Nex1 was a prominent member of the South Korean delegation, which was led by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport.
The delegation also included key public organizations like the Korea Institute for Aviation Safety Technology (KIAST), the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, the National Fire Agency, the Korea National Police University, and the Korea Drone Soccer Association.
During the workshop's second day, LIG Nex1 took the stage to present a session titled "Drone threats and countermeasurement in Korea."
The company also held consultations to discuss the anti-drone systems and solutions currently deployed in various Korean public institutions and critical facilities.
The event attracted a diverse international audience, including experts and on-site workers from Interpol, the Chinese Public Security Bureau, the Malaysian Ministry of Home Affairs, and scholars from the US.
According to LIG Nex1, this road show provided a valuable opportunity to establish key networking connections with potential international government clients.
“Based on the capabilities we have accumulated in all areas of the defense industry, including precision-guided munitions, surveillance and reconnaissance, communications, avionics, and electronic warfare", CEO of LIG Nex1 Kim Ji-Chan said. "We will clearly promote the competitiveness of LIG Nex1 anti-drone system to the Middle East region.”
