South Korean food company Daesang Corp. announced on Tuesday that it is launching the integrated brand "Sweevero" for alternative sweeteners like allulose.
Sweevero is a combination of the English word "sweetness" and the Italian word "vero," meaning "true sweetness."
Daesang aims to lead the global low-calorie alternative sweetener market through the Sweevero brand, with a focus on expanding into the largest market, North America, and exploring new markets in Southeast Asia and Europe.
In South Korea, Daesang plans to expand its business-to-consumer allulose business through the CheongJeongWon brand. The company has established the largest domestic allulose production base in its Gunsan starch factory to meet the growing demand for low-calorie sweeteners.
"Leveraging our exclusive technological expertise in the ingredient sector accumulated over 67 years, we aim to introduce differentiated products and lead the global market," said Kim Tae-yong, head of Daesang's ingredient marketing team.
