LG Electronics Inc. announced on Monday that it has received the Artificial Intelligence Management System (ISO/IEC 42001) certification, an international standard covering the entire AI management system.
The AI Management System, co-established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), evaluates organizations developing and using AI-based products or services.
It assesses whether AI systems are systematically built and responsibly utilized throughout the entire process, from planning to disposal.
LG Electronics has been recognized for thoroughly controlling potential issues in AI products and services, as well as ensuring AI-related security, fairness, transparency, and accountability.
With this certification, LG Electronics expects to enhance customer trust in AI-applied products and services and strengthen its global competitiveness by applying international standards to related processes.
Previously, LG Electronics was the first in the home appliance industry to receive the Deep Learning AI Verification certification from UL, a global safety science company, for its Tromm laundry and drying appliances.
LG Electronics is committed to improving the value of life through 'Zero Labor Home, Makes Quality Time' as its goal for the home appliance business.
The company continues to conduct research and development based on data and AI for differentiated smart home implementation.
